凸显理论视角下汉乐府《长歌行》三种英译的对比分析

A Comparative Analysis of the Three English Versions of Han Yuefu Poetry Chang Ge Xing from the Perspective of the Prominence Theory

《长歌行》一首广为传诵的乐府诗,语言精练,表意丰富。诗中劝勉人们惜时的哲理内涵深受人们喜爱,且被译为多种英文文本而走出国门。因此研究其英译能否正确传达诗的内涵及韵味就显得尤为重要。基于此,从认知语法的凸显理论视角,分析许渊冲、Tr.Anne Birrell及杨宪益、戴乃迭翻译的三种《长歌行》英译的凸显焦点与原诗是否与原诗一致,发现翻译诗歌时译者应该从诗人的主观意图出发,全面理解诗人所要凸显的意象和主题思想,从而使英译本的侧重点与原诗吻合,这样才能让国外的读者充分领略中国诗歌的意境和美感。

Chang Ge Xing as a popular Yuefu poem , features refine language and expresses rich connotations. The philosophical connotation that exhorts people to cherish time in the poem is deeply loved by people. The poem is translated into various English versions and known by many foreigners. It is particularly important to study whether these English versions can correctly convey the connotations and lingering charm of this poem. The three English versions of Chang Ge Xing respectively translated by Xu Yuanchong, Tr. Anne Birrell, Yang Hsien-yi and Gladys Yang are analyzed from the perspective of the Prominence of Cognitive Grammar to explore whether the focus in the three English versions is consistent with that in the original poem. It found that translators should conform to the poet's subjective intent and fully understand the image and theme highlighted by the poet so as to make the focus of the English version coincide with that in the original poem. Thus, foreign readers can fully understand the artistic conception and beauty of Chinese poetry.
