Currently, radiotherapy or concurrent chemoradiation is often used as an adjunct method in the treatment of patients with high-grade gliomas(HGG) after surgery. Distinguishing treatment-related imaging changes such as pseudoprogression from tumor recurrence is difficult due to extremely similar appearances on conventional MRI. Amide proton transfer(APT) imaging have relatively high sensitivity and specificity to distinguish pseudoprogression from tumor recurrence by examining the content of amide proton in tissue. This paper reviews the APT in differentiating pseudoprogression from recurrence of gliomas and its advantages compared with DSC-PWI, MRS, and PET.
