The field of museums has been undergoing major changes. The economic crisis has indeed led a large number of museums to rethink the relationship between museums and their environment. The museum academia(which is not in a big scale)seems to be facing a crossroads. If we can trust all kinds of research and reports on the future of museums, museums seem to be really integrating into the social environment. But two other plans can also be considered:one is at the geopolitical level and the other the epistemological level. At the geopolitical level, the future of museums seems to belong to the Anglo-Saxon world;but at the epistemological level,we may be able to explore the essence of museology.Since the late 1960 s,many museum theorists believe that the way to conceive museology is not to put the know-how of museum operation into practice.Has"The specific path of men facing the reality"show a clear agenda for museum research? Is there another possibility of looking at museology?
