谈谈“精准医学”和“精准医疗”

“Precision Medical Science” and “Precision Medical Treatment”:misconception and differentiation

2015年初,美国总统奥巴马在国情咨文中提出了"Precision Medicine"的概念,在国内外引起了高度的关注,有人借此提出了所谓的"精准医学"。本文将从语言学和医学发展史的角度出发,结合奥巴马提出的具体内涵,充分证明奥巴马提出的是"精准医疗"而不是"精准医学";并进一步从临床数据出发阐明"基因治疗"不能等同于"精准医疗","基因治疗"只是现代医学发展的一个分支;最后指出目前"基因治疗"在管理、体制、法律法规和隐私保护等方面均存在不足。

In 2015, in his State of the Union Address, US president Barack Obama announced that he is launching the Precision Medicine Initiative, which has attracted considerable attention worldwide. In China, some people interpreted it as "Precision Medical Treatment", while others considered it as "Precision Medical Science" instead. The intention of this article is to clarify misconceptions of "Precision Medical Science" vs "Precision Medical Treatment", provide sufficient evidence, utilize the original connotation of "Precision Medicine" initiated by President Obama, differentiate them from both semantics and medicine history perspectives. Based on a substantial amount of clinical data, it further declares that "Gene Therapy" could not be viewed as equivalent to "Precision Medical Treatment"."Gene Therapy" is only a branch of modern medicine with "insufficient" precision. At last, the article also points out existing issues related to"Gene Therapy"in the areas of clinical management, clinical system, legislation and privacy protection in China.
