右堆美浓是台湾客家聚落中保留族群传统最完整的地区,也是全台湾仍保留油纸伞文化最周全的地方。油纸伞是美浓客家最显著的文化意象之一,其所代表的文化意涵有别于其他族群的价值思维,在今日美浓油纸伞兼具实用意义与艺术价值。文化产业是一潮流,亦是让传统文化活水流动的途径之一,让客家文化产业有良善的文化积淀,且能创造产值的实质性意义。

Meinong is the most complete area in Taiwan’s Hakka settlement that retains the tradition of ethnic groups, and it is also the most comprehensive place in Taiwan that still retains the culture of oil paper umbrella.
