On Educational Implication in Dewey’s Pragmatic Philosophy

摘要 杜威是美国当代的哲学家,也是一位实用主义大师。杜威的许多关于教育的举世闻名的论说都源于其实用主义哲学观。廓清杜威实用主义哲学观的概念、本质和内涵后,认识到他关于知与行关系、注重实效观点、有别于传统认识论的经验论等实用主义哲学思想,在此基础上,进一步探讨和分析了杜威实用主义哲学观中所隐藏的关于教育本质的论述、教育无目的论、“从做中学”和儿童中心论等教育意蕴。 Dewey is a contemporary American philosopher and a pragmatic master as well. Many of Dewey’s world-famous theories about education stem from his pragmatic philosophy. The paper has clarified the concept, essence and connotation of Dewey’s pragmatic philosophy, recognized his pragmatic philosophical thoughts such as the relationship between knowledge and practice, paying attention to practical views, and his empirical view different from traditional epistemology. On this basis, the paper further explores and analyzes the educational implication hidden in his philosophy. They are: the nature of education, the theory of education without purpose, the “learning by doing” theory and the child-centered theory.
