The Diachronic Evolution and Synchronic Analysis of the "Bobo"

关于称谓词“伯伯”的用法,明清学者的笔记中就多有讨论。我们对“伯伯”使用频次作历时考察,探讨其语义演变及使用情况,分析其作为称谓词的泛化过程及成因,并指出其在共时地域分布上的多样性以及在方言中构词的灵活性,以期对“伯伯”有个全面而系统的了解。

There are a lot of discussions on the usage of appellation "Bobo" in the notes of Ming dynasty's scholars. In order to get a comprehensive and systematic understanding of this appellation, this paper will diachronic review the frequency of the appellation Bobo(伯伯), discuss its semantic shift and usage condition, analyze its generalization process and causes as an appellation words, and point out its ambiguity in the synchronic geographical distribution, as well as the flexibility of word-formation in dialect.
