A Brief Study on the Compilation of A Brief Supplement to Chenghua’s Events by Wang Yun in the Yuan Dynasty

《钦定元王恽承华事略补图》是一部关于皇子教育的皇家御用教材。自民国以来,被认为是内府或武英殿刻本。通过对历史资料的考证,该书是由光绪皇帝钦定,徐郙等人负责绘图,张之洞奉御旨在金陵书局等地刊刻,是一部带有宫廷色彩的官书局刻本。随着晚清政局的演进和传统雕版印刷术的衰落,此书也成为清代宫廷最后一部木刻版画图书。

A Brief Supplement to Chenghua’s Events by Wang Yun in the Yuan Dynasty is a royal textbook about the education of the prince. Since the Republic of China, it has been regarded as a copy of Neifu or Wuying Hall. Through the textual research of historical materials, the book was authorized by Emperor Guangxu, and was drawn by Xu Fu and others. Zhang Zhidong’s purpose was to print in Jinling Bookstore and other places. It was an official bookstore engraved with palace color. With the evolution of the political situation in the late Qing Dynasty and the decline of traditional woodcut printing, this book became the last woodcut print book in the court of the Qing Dynasty.
