Although the solvent-based coatings and the water-based coatings are the main force of the coating industry at present,the water-based coatings which are the key point of lowering the emission of VOC,are gradually taking the place of the other.The harm of the traditional paint was discussed.It was indicated that the industrial pollution controi promoted the development of waterborne coatings industry and environmental pollution control made waterborne coatings popular in the green building material market.The development of the waterborne coatings was prospected.
