Internet, Social Capital and Consumption of Rural Residents

摘要 近年来,随着互联网在农村普及,网络正悄无声息地改变着农村居民的生产生活方式,农村居民消费模式更加多样化,消费时间和空间也得到了极大拓展,互联网成为优化消费结构、促进农村经济增长的重要动力。本文利用中国家庭追踪调查2016年的数据,将互联网、社会资本与农村居民消费纳入统一框架下进行研究。结果发现互联网对农户社会资本的积累具有正向的促进作用,拥有较强社会资本的农户有较高的消费水平,互联网通过社会资本对农村居民消费产生正向影响。就地区而言,消费效应存在区域差异性,互联网在西部地区的消费效应远大于中、东部地区;从年龄分组来看,青年人通过互联网积累社会资本对消费的促进作用最为明显,中年人次之,老年人作用并不显著。 In recent years,with the popularization o f interconnection in rural areas,the network is quietly changing the way of production and life of rural residents,rural residents’consumption patterns are more diversified,consumption time and space have been greatly expanded,and the Internet has become an important driving force to optimize consumption structure and promote rural economic growth.Based on the data of China Family Panel Studies in 2016,this paper studies Internet,social capital and rural residents’consumption under a unified framework.The results show that the Internet has a positive role in promoting the accumulation of social capital of farmers.Farmers with stronger social capital have a higher level of consumption.The Internet has a positive impact on rural residents’consumption through social capital.Regionally,there are regional differences in the consumption effect,and the consumption effect of the Internet in the western region is far greater than that in the central and eastern regions;according to age groups,the role of young people in promoting consumption through the accumulation of social capital through the Internet is the most obvious,followed by middle-aged people,and the role of the elderly is not significant.
