书籍装帧的谱系是一个集形态、材料、制作方法等于一体的相互关联且相互作用不断演进的动态系统。我国书籍装帧的谱系研究主要体现在注重书籍装帧的谱系观念的建立,注重书籍装帧系统内部要素的关联,注重内部要素的承传以及外部因素的影响。从线装书出发,审视我国书籍装帧的谱系,对研究我国书籍装帧艺术有一定的作用。

The genealogy of book binding is a dynamic system which integrates form,material and method of making into one and interacts with each other to form a continuous evolution.The differences between the genealogy study of book binding in China and the art history of book binding are mainly reflected in the establishment of the genealogy concept of book binding,the correlation of internal elements of book binding system,the inheritance of internal elements and the influence of external factors.From the perspective of thread-bound books,examining the genealogy of book binding in China also plays a fundamental role in studying the history of book binding art in China.
