Urban communities, as habitats for people, often lose their original “publicity” because of the lack of a common life history and collective member memory. Due to the flattened organization and advocacy of equal and free interpersonal communication, the network effectively promotes interpersonal interaction while reducing communication costs. The state of isolation of residents under social atomization is broken, making the construction of “community” possible. Findings from the field research of high-end residential area H in Fuzhou show that residents who act as actors use the integration of weak relations, community imagination of “simultaneity” and the function of instrumentation of network to develop online concentrated discussions of daily life into offline community activities. While gaining the sense of individual existence, it also shapes the sense of belonging to the community. At the moment of high-speed social mobility, the network, as the creator and disseminator of community culture, is an important space for social “community” imagination and production.
