On Development of College Counselors: Constructing the Occupation and Profession

辅导员工作在高校思想政治工作第一线,扮演大学生人生导师角色,关乎高校立德树人的成败,建设高素质的辅导员队伍是中国特色社会主义教育事业发展的必然要求。辅导员队伍建设的出路在于走职业化、专业化、现代化之路。职业化目的在于使辅导员工作成为一个可以终身追求的事业,其前提是实现专业化;专业化意味着辅导员工作必须建立在科学的基础上,而行动研究是促进辅导员专业化水平提升的有效途径;现代化是辅导员工作的必然选择,并通过自组织化、个性化、开放化和规范化来实践。职业化、专业化、现代化是高校辅导员队伍建设的客观要求,需要有条不紊推进。

Counselors, facing students in a daily basis, are in charge of the ideological and political work in colleges and universities, and play the role of life mentors for college students. Their work is crucial to the success or failure of moral education. Building a team of qualified counselors is an inevitable requirement for the development of socialist education with Chinese characteristics. The modernization of counselors’ teams lies in making this position into an occupation and a profession. The purpose of professionalization is to make the work of counselors a career that can be pursued for life, the premise of which is to make it a specialty. Specialty means that the work of counselors must be based on science, and action research is an effective way to promote the professional level of counselors. Modernization is the inevitable choice of counselors’ work, and is featured by self-organization, individualization, openness, and standardization. Professionalization, specialization and modernization are the objective requirements of the construction of the team of college counselors, which need to be carried forward in an orderly manner.
