李树淡的作品有种怪诞的气质,像志怪小说一样,他一边讲故事,一边调侃,用诙谐的方式去表达沉重的主题。作品中"物"本身的物质属性、指涉的丰富涵义,都被他自然而有趣地呈现出来。器物并不是封闭的容器,而是开放的空间,"花瓶是器,房子是器,时空是器,人也是器",通过"雕塑"这一动作联系起来,产生新的故事。

Li Shudan’s bizarre works resemble mythical stories,in which he is telling stories while scoffing.He expresses the solemn themes in a humorous way.The physical attributes and the connotations of "object" in his works have been demonstrated intriguingly.Artifacts aren’t sealed containers,but the open space.Vase,house,space-time and people are all artifacts,which are connected by the action of "sculpture",thus making new stories.
