This paper establishes the network demography and demonstrates it from the aspects of practical needs, discipline structure and practical priorities. Network demography is a science that takes the quantitative characteristics and quantitative relationship of network population as the research object, and uses advanced technologies such as Internet statistics and big data analysis to reveal the phenomenon and development law of network population in cyberspace. The discipline framework of network demography is composed of four parts such as revealing the laws of network demography, constructing the theory of network demography and so on. Its practical important task is to make good statistics on six aspects like the total network population, network demography structure, etc.
