现代性的内在矛盾规定了当今时代文化发展的根本内涵与基本走向。现代性与前现代性的矛盾使现代文化出现了“世俗转向”、“主体转向”与“理性转向”。一旦进入现代社会,现代性的内在矛盾便成为推动当代文化发展的问题意识:一方面,现代性的出场具有一定的历史必然性,人们不得不顺应现代性;但另一方面,现代性的反思性特征又使人们不得不超越现代性。所以,文化发展的时代主题正从“顺应现代性”转向“重建现代性”。在重建现代性过程中,现代性矛盾的合理扬弃不仅需要反思现代性的文化困境,同时也需要人类共同价值观的重构,这也是当今时代文化重建的重要趋势。

The inherent contradiction of modernity determines the fundamental connotation and basic trend of cultural development in the current era. The contradiction between modernity and pre-modernity has led to the emergence of “secular turn”,“subject turn” and “rational turn” in modern culture. Once in modern society, the inherent contradiction of modernity becomes the consciousness of problems that promotes the development of contemporary culture. On the one hand, the appearance of modernity has a certain historical inevitability and we have to adapt to modernity;on the other hand, the reflective characteristics of modernity has forced us to transcend modernity. Therefore, the theme of the era of cultural development is shifting from “adapting to modernity” to “reconstructing modernity”. In the process of reconstructing modernity, the rational sublation of modernity contradiction not only needs to reflect on the cultural predicament of modernity, but also requires the reconstruction of universal human values. This is also an important trend in the cultural reconstruction of the modern era.
