Andrea del Sarto is one of the most important Italian artists in the early 16th century, and Journey of Magi is an important theme in Italian Renaissance art. Andrea had painted a big size fresco under such theme in Cloister of Vows of Church Santissima Annunziata Florence, Italy. Focusing on this fresco of Andrea,this article identifies the content, analyzes its artistic goals, and discusses the new method. The research method of this article focuses on the crucial relation between fresco and the real space where fresco located, as well as pay attention to Journey of Magi as one part of the fresco circle in Cloister of Vows, and how it connects with other frescoes. Thereby the article redefine the content of the painting, narrative timeline, spatial logic, and the symbolic meaning of the architecture and figures in the fresco. The connections between real architecture, real space and the fresco space, pictorial program and symbolic meanings are reflected on.
