美国批评家迪夫·希基是上世纪80年代以来西方审美回归思潮的引领者,也是以批判艺术界的学院主义和官僚主义、挞伐当代艺术体制和历史形式主义现代艺术理论、捍卫基于自由审美判断的艺术市场而闻名的艺术批评家。本文将以其《神龙:美学论文集》为线索,探讨希基“审美政治学”的内涵、逻辑与启示。
David Hickey is an art critic who has been the leader of the ideological trend of “return to beauty” in the western world since the 1980s. He is also an art critic who is famous for criticizing the academism and bureaucracy of the art world, criticizing the contemporary art system and historical formalism of modernist art theory, and defending the art market based on free aesthetic judgment. This paper discusses the connotation, logic and enlightenment of Hickey’s “aesthetic politics” with the clue of his famous work The Invisible Dragon: Essays on Beauty.
