The article introduced the development and characteristics of ancient colour, described the making methods, materials of the traditional ancient color pigments and research status of lead-free ceramic pigments, analyzed the existing problems of ancient color decoration. The improve of ancient color pigments and the main technical keys to be solved in lead-free process were put forward.
