UP AND AWAY A passenger adds her signature to China Southern Airlines Flight CZ3001 on September 25, as Beijing’s brand new Daxing International Airport opened to flights on that day. Located 46 km south of downtown Beijing, the new aviation hub, which is shaped like a phoenix spreading its wings, is expected to reach passenger throughput of 72 million and cargo throughput of 2 million tons by 2025, with an estimated 620,000 takeoffs and landings.
