意识形态与翻译的双向互动在严复翻译话语和实践中的彰显

Interaction Between Ideology and Translation in Yanfu’s Translation Discourse and Practice

翻译研究自从开启“文化转向”以来,从意识形态的维度去审视翻译活动就受到了翻译理论界的普遍关注。首先,意识形态会影响翻译活动,表现在翻译实践的始终;那么翻译活动是否会反作用于意识形态呢?本文拟从清末民初的翻译家严复的翻译话语和实践入手,探讨意识形态和翻译的双向互动作用。意识形态会影响到译者的翻译动机的预设,译本的选择,翻译方法和策略的选用,以及译本生成后的社会效应。与此同时,译本在完成后,也会对社会意识形态产生反作用,促成新的意识形态的建构(2019015)。

Since the “Cultural Turn”, translation theory has shown great interest in translation studies from ideological perspective. It is a fact that ideology influences translation practice;then, does translation also place any impact on ideology Based on Yanfu’s translation discourse and practice, this paper tries to show the interaction between ideology and translation. On the one hand, ideology will influence translators’ motivation, choice of the source text, translation methods and strategies, as well as the social effects of the target text;on the other hand, the target text will influence the social ideology and help to construct new ideology.
