Ten years after the outbreak of the 2008 global financial crisis, the moral lessons that lie behind are still edifying to the corporate world today. To a large extent, the crisis is a result of the failure of human weakness in dealing with the multiple conflicts of interest. In turn, it also demonstrates that the cultivation of an ethical culture is crucial not only to enterprises themselves, but also to the healthy development of the entire business ecosystem. In other words, in the 21st century of highly integrated economy, generating decent return for shareholders should no longer be viewed as the ultimate goal of enterprises, but the fulfillment of their social value is an inescapable mission over the long term.
