老年教育作为全民学习、终身教育的重要平台和载体,在应对人口老龄化挑战,实现"积极老龄化""健康老龄化"中有重要的作用,它有利于提升老年人的养老质量,有助于促进家庭的幸福美满和国家的和谐稳定.西部欠发达地区的老年教育起步晚,发展也不平衡,要从提高思想认识、健全机制体制、共享教育资源、提升供给能力、加强考核评估等方面入手加快推进.

As an important platform and carrier for the whole people’s learning and lifelong education, geriatric education plays an important role in coping with the challenges of population aging and realizing "active aging" and "healthy aging". It is conducive to improving the quality of old-age care for the elderly and promoting the happiness of the family and the harmony and stability of the country. The education for the aged in the underdeveloped areas of Western China started late and developed unevenly. It should be accelerated from the aspects of improving ideological awareness, perfecting mechanism and system, sharing educational resources, improving supply capacity and strengthening assessment.
