《保卫延安》是中国当代文学史上第一部大规模正面描写解放战争、塑造人民军队英雄群像的优秀长篇小说,具有里程碑式的划时代意义。杜鹏程九易其稿,历尽艰辛才将其完成。作者用饱满的激情、挺拔的笔力,真实地再现了延安保卫战中青化砭、沙家店等几次关键战役,生动地描绘了一幅波澜壮阔的战争画卷。作品将诗情与哲理有机融合,具有宏伟雄壮的气势、粗犷豪放的风格,始终洋溢着充沛的革命热情和乐观主义精神。

Defending Yan’an is an excellent novel that first described the War of Liberation directly and shaped the heroic images of the people’s army. It was a milestone and had an epoch-making significance in the history of Chinese contemporary literature. Du Pengcheng,the writer of Defending Yan’an,had modified the novel for almost nine times and then finished this masterpiece. He depicted a magnificent picture of wars by truly reproducing several key battles like the campaigns of Qing Huabian and Sha Jiadian. This novel was mixed the poetry and philosophy and presented magnificent and rough styles. It always filled with abundant revolutionary enthusiasm and optimism.
