功能翻译理论视角下的陕北剪纸外宣文本翻译研究

A Study of C-E Translation of Publicity Texts for Northern Shaanxi Paper-cutting from the Perspective of Functionalist Theory

功能翻译理论认为,翻译不是简单的语码对应和信息对等,而是一种交际互动和文化转换。功能翻译理论指导下的文本翻译原则——目的原则、连贯原则和忠实原则,为陕北剪纸外宣文本的翻译提供了很好的借鉴作用。译者可基于陕北剪纸外宣文本的特殊目的,抓住原文本内涵,摆脱原文本束缚,通过适当删减或增加文本信息以及重组语篇结构等翻译策略,帮助译语读者更好地了解陕北剪纸及其蕴涵的中国传统文化。

Functionalist Theory of Translation shows that translation does not simply mean code switching and information equivalence. Instead,it is a communicative interaction and cultural exchange. The skopos rule,coherence rule and fidelity rule proposed by the Functionalist Theory of Translation shed light on C-E translation of publicity texts for Northern Shaanxi Paper-cutting. When translating this kind of texts,the translator shall take into account the special purpose lying behind the translation,i.e.,helping target language readers better understand Northern Shaanxi Paper-cutting as well as traditional Chinese culture embodied in it. And to achieve this goal,the translator shall free himself from the bounds of the original texts and employ such translation strategies as abridgement,addition and discourse reorganization.
