“The Bees of the Invisible”: A Theory of Children’s Poetry

摘要 本文提出一种儿童诗歌理论,将美学和体验连接起来,汲取海德格尔的解放诗学理论,引入雅克·拉康的转喻与隐喻理论、朱莉亚·克里斯蒂娃的符号域/母性空间等理论,并解释几者之间的关联性。海德格尔从广大的政治和社会层面指出人的异化和绝望,我认为儿童进入语言则是在个人层面上的异化。随着语言和工具性思维取代感官愉悦和联系,儿童体验到了一种深刻的失落感。然而,通过儿童诗歌的感官方面,儿童可以与物质世界、自己的本性以及他人保持原有联系或重新联结。本文结合凯伦·海塞的诗体儿童小说《脱离尘土》为主要文本来论证。 The theory about children’s poetry I propose connects aesthetics with embodied experience, and travels through Heidegger’s theory of an emancipatory poetics. From here, I draw in and explain the relevance of Jacques Lacan’s theories of metonymy and metaphor, Julia Kristeva’s theory of the semiotic chora and other theories. I argue that children’s entry into language represents on a personal level the alienation and despair Heidegger located on a much grander political and social scale. As language and instrumental thought replace sensory pleasure and connection, children experience a profound sense of loss. Through the sensory aspects of children’s poetry, however, children can stay connected or reconnect to the material world, their own natures, and their interpersonal relationships. In order to keep the discussion grounded, my development of the theory will be related to an interpretation of Karen Hesse’s Out of the Dust .
