Origin and Trend of Vietnamese American Literature

美国越裔文学很大程度上是越南战争的结果。本文围绕越南战争给美国越裔带来的深重灾难和身份危机,以越裔族群为主要关注点,探讨越裔文学中的战争和身份主题。通过梳理国内外越裔文学研究现状,提出:随着1.5代越裔作家的不断壮大和优秀越裔作品的出现,越裔文学开始迈入美国文学正典化进程,同时越裔文学研究正在成为亚裔文学研究的新生力量。

Vietnamese American literature is largely a result of the Vietnam War. Based on the tragic suffering and identity crisis of Vietnamese Americans caused by the Vietnam War, this article explores war theme and identity theme in Vietnamese American literature. By analyzing the research status of Vietnamese American literature at home and abroad, this article argues that Vietnamese American literature has entered the process of American literary canonization with a rapid growth of 1.5 generation of Vietnamese American writers and the emergence of excellent Vietnamese American works. Meanwhile, the study of Vietnamese American literature becomes a rising branch of the study of Asian American literature.
