美国主流新闻媒体对“中美贸易战”中双方形象的刻画——以《华盛顿邮报》为例 被引量:3

摘要 本文采用Fairclough的三维框架,从语篇、话语实践和社会实践三个层面,对美国《华盛顿邮报》在3月21日发表的一篇关于"中美贸易战"的新闻报道进行了语言学特征的描述、互文性特征的阐释、以及社会文化视角的原因分析。本文发现《华盛顿邮报》在对"中美贸易战"中双方形象进行刻画时并非客观公正,而是在报道中刻意丑化甚至抹黑中国形象,积极维护美国的正义形象甚至将美国塑造成一个受害者形象。美媒对"中美贸易战"的报道受到当前国际权力关系和国内社会文化环境的影响。 This paper adopts Fairclough's three-dimensional framework to conduct a critical discourse analysis on a news report about the " China-US Trade War" published by the Washington Post on March 21 from all three levels: text,discursive practice,and sociocultural practice.To be more specific,it mainly focuses on the description of linguistic features,the interpretation of intertextual features,and the explanation of causes from sociocultural perspectives at each level.Findings show that " the Washington Post" is not objective and fair in portraying the images of the two sides in the " US-China trade war": On the one hand,it deliberately demonizes and even discredits the image of China in the report;On the other hand,it attempts to portray America as an image of justice and even an image of victim.The American media's reports on the " US-China trade war" are affected by current international power relations and its domestic social and cultural environment.
