Rethinking of Questions in the Study of Early Chinese Bronze Art: Taking Animal Ornaments as an Example

中国早期青铜器动物纹饰艺术是相关课题研究中比较重要的部分,围绕研究历史中经典的命题、假设、猜想、解释和对过去的推测,即“商周青铜器上的动物纹饰是否具有象征意义”,以促进对此命题的再思考,尤其在多维交叉的跨学科语境中,运用跨学科理论和方法,对重新思考早期中国艺术史有着重要的现实意义。

This article is an important part of my research on the issues related to the art of early Chinese bronze art: the animal ornaments. It focuses on the classic propositions, hypotheses, conjectures, explanations and speculations in the history of the study, namely,whether the animal ornaments on the bronzes of Shang and Zhou Dynasties may be symbolic or not. The research hopes to promote the rethinking of this proposition, especially in the multi-disciplinary interdisciplinary context, which has practical significance for rethinking the history of early Chinese bronze art.
