A close reading of the text will help you draw the conclusion that “irony” is more in line with the characteristics of this novel than “sarcasm”. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the irony of the text, and to reveal the poetic quality displayed by the author in the novel, and how to highlight the poetry in the novel which is characterized by irony.
