摘要
语言是文化的载体,外宣翻译是外宣研究的一个重要领域。我国外宣翻译材料中包含有大量中国特色文化表达。中国特色文化表达一方面代表我国的文化、传统、国情,另一方面对于西方受众而言,由于文化背景差异,存在理解上的困难,容易造成误解,影响外宣效果。因此,根据国外受众的语言、思维习惯等,分别选取保留文化意象、删除文化意象或替代文化意象的翻译策略,可以更准确地表达中国特色文化,为外宣翻译提供新思路。
Culture is expressed through language. Translation for China’s global communication is essential for the studies of China's global communication. There are numerous expressions with Chinese characteristics used in the materials in this field. Those expressions representing China’s culture, tradition and national conditions are difficult to be understood by western audience for the differences in Chinese and western cultures. The effects of China’s global communication would be jeopardized without proper translation. Thus, based on the language usage and thinking pattern of western audience, three translation strategies are introduced, namely keepingor deleting orreplacing the culture item, to render such expressions preciselyand to shed light on the translation for China's global communication.
