为探究庞德在音乐领域的追求与贡献,玛格丽特·费希尔与庞德音乐研究的两位先驱人物进行了本次访谈:一位是曾为BBC制作庞德歌剧的加拿大作曲家雷蒙德·默里·谢弗,另一位是澳大利亚艺术评论家罗伯特·休斯。双方进行了深度交流,并共同回顾当年制作《遗嘱》《卡瓦尔坎蒂》等所涉及的艺术、技术问题以及音乐界众多友人提供的各种协助。两位访谈对象为庞德歌剧走向舞台进行过多方协调,克服种种困境并有所创新,挖掘了庞德的音乐认知对于音乐界不可忽视的价值。
In order to explore Pound’s pursuit and contribution in the field of music, Margaret Fisher interviewed the two pioneers who are engaged in research on Pound music: Raymond Murray Schafer, a Canadian composer who produced Pound opera for the BBC, and Robert Hughes, an Australian art critic. The interviews are conducted with in-depth exchanges. They recalled the artistic and technical aspects of Testament and Cavalcanti, as well as the help from many friends in the music community. The two interviewees contributed Pound’s opera to the stage after coordinating different groups, overcoming various difficulties and bringing forth new ideas. They further indicated that the value of Pound’s music cognition couldn’t be ignored.
