National Institute of Science and Technology Policy (NISTEP) is a typical science and technology think tank under the government science and technology administration department. This paper attempts to sort out its institutional profile, research fields, research status and research outputs, and summarize its research characteristics, so as to provide references for the development of similar science and technology think tanks in China.
