论钱钟书与朱东润关于梅尧臣诗歌的论争

Qian Zhongshu and Zhu Dongrun’s Debate over Mei Yaochen’s Poetry

作为古代文学研究大家的钱钟书和朱东润对宋代诗人梅尧臣诗歌的认识颇有不同.如钱钟书认为“平淡”是梅尧臣诗歌的主体风格,朱东润则认为梅尧臣向往李杜韩,并非一个平淡的诗人.从梅尧臣的诗歌创作看,其诗歌风格虽然有一定的多样性,但总体风格尚可用“平淡”概括.朱东润认为钱钟书关于梅尧臣“关心民生”的认识没有揭示出其“浑涵壮丽”的诗风,其实“浑涵壮丽”并不是梅尧臣诗歌的主体风格.钱钟书认为梅尧臣诗中的琐屑丑恶之物使诗歌显得滑稽可笑,朱东润则认为这些事物往往是有为而发.这种不同认识,源于两个人诗学观的差异.尽管两种诗学观难分高下,但在对具体诗歌的阐释上钱钟书显然较为贴切.

Qian Zhongshu and Zhu Dongrun, as masters of ancient literature, have different understandings of Mei Yaochen’s poetry in Song Dynasty. For example, Qian Zhongshu thinks that "plain" is the main style of Mei Yaochen’s poetry, while Zhu Dongrun thinks that Mei Yaochen yearns for Libai Dufu and Hanyu and is not a plain poet. From the perspective of creation, al-though Mei Yichen, s poetry style has certain diversity, the overall style can still be summarized as "plain". Zhu Dongrun believes that the understanding of Qian Zhongshu's "care for the people's livelihood",does not reveal the magnificent and glorious poetic style of Mei Yaochen's. In fact,"magnificent and glorious" is not his main style. Qian Zhongshu believes that the trivial and ugly matters in Mei Yuchen' s poems make poetry seem ridiculous, and Zhu Dongrun thinks that these things are often caused by feel-ings. This different understanding stems from the difference between the two poetic views. Although the two poetic views are difficult to distinguish, Qian Zhongshu' s opinion is known as being more appropriate in the interpretation.
