When Does Study of Meridians and Collaterals Go out of Predicament: The Research Review since the Seventh Five-year Plan

“经络研究”一直是国家科研规划中的重要议题,连续多次纳入了国家科研规划的顶层设计中,包括“七五”攻关计划、“八五”攀登计划、“九五”攀登计划、“973”计划等。连续性的科研资助计划极大地推动了针灸学的发展,在所有研究成果当中,经脉-脏腑相关是最为丰富、可靠的研究成果之一,这一方向的主要研究结果支持神经的节段性联系决定经脉-脏腑相关规律的结论。但在总体上,所获取的研究成果与预设的部分研究目标相比较仍有很大差距,并且在这一过程中出现了一些尴尬的“成果”,对此应当进行认真反思和总结。

The study of meridians and collaterals has always been an important issue in the national scientific research planning, and has been incorporated into the top-level design of the national scientific research planning, such as the Seventh Five-year Plan, the Eighth Five-year Plan, the Ninth Five-year Plan, and the 973 Plan, etc, for many times. Continuous research funding programs have greatly promoted the development of acupuncture-moxibution. Among all the research results, the meridian-organ correlation is one of the most abundant and reliable results. And the main findings in this direction support the conclusion that the segment connection of nerve determines the meridian-organ correlation. However, in general, there is still a big gap between the research achievements and some of the intended research objectives. Some embarrassing results have emerged in this process, which should be seriously reflected and summarized.
