摘要
近年来,马来西亚华裔作家欧大旭在英语世界声誉鹊起,不少作品深受读者的喜爱,也渐成国内学界研究的宠儿。本文聚焦欧大旭短篇小说《帆船》,解读小说主人公彦祖移民香港后所经历的语言障碍、情感危机和身份迷失。笔者认为,华裔新移民尽管在经济上取得了不同于早期移民的巨大成就,但是他们在语言、婚姻、身份等方面依然存在隔阂和困惑,始终难以融入当地社会。欧大旭的以文本书写体现了他对华裔新移民的敏锐观察和深刻思考。
Tash Aw, who is a Malaysian Chinese writer, has enjoyed more and more popularities in recent years. His works not only are popular with readers, but also arouse great interests in academic circles. This paper focuses on his short story--“sail”, and studies its main character’s identity crisis. The author holds that Yanzu has suffered greatly from language barrier, loneliness and identity crisis despite of his economic success, which reflects Tash Aw’s accurate observation and profound thoughts.
