《南柯太守传》的故事空间可以分成现实空间与梦境空间。在其叙事中,故事空间一方面作为“行为的地点”,承载着人物的各种活动,更与人物的活动一起构成场景,支撑起整篇小说的基本骨架,建构起叙事脉络;另一方面,其梦境空间以及现实空间中的蚁穴作为“行动着的地点”,在凸显小说的叙事意蕴上发挥了重要作用。由此,小说所呈现出的基本时空特点便是空间维度的强化与时间维度的淡化,以及利用空间来表现时间。

In the Biography of Nanke Prefecture,the story space can be divided into real space and dream space.In its narration,the story space,on the one hand,as the“place of action”,carries the various activities of the characters,and also forms the scene together with the activities of the characters,supporting the basic framework of the whole novel and constructing the narrative context;On the other hand,its dream space,as the“acting place”,plays an important role in highlighting the narrative meaning of the novel.Therefore,the basic spacetime characteristics presented in the novel are the strengthening of the spatial dimension and the weakening of time dimension,as well as the use of space to express time.
