On the Ideological Origin and Historical Background of Comprehensively Governing the Party with Strict Discipline in the New Era

在党的十八大、十九大报告中,习近平总书记多次强调要加强党员党性要求、全面从严治党。马克思的无产阶级政党形成理论、列宁的无产阶级政党发展理论及中国共产党的政党建设理论深刻认识对党性建党的重要作用,是新时代全面从严治党的思想渊源。从国际、国内及党内等角度分析新时代全面从严治党的时代背景,即国际经济与世界格局的新变化、国内经济转型的新挑战及党内面临的新考验。

In the report of the 18th and 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping repeatedly stresses the requirement of party spirit for party members and comprehensively governing the party with strict discipline. The important role of party construction by party spirit can be deeply understood by Marx’s theory of proletarian party formation, Lenin’s theory of proletarian party development and the theory of party building theory of the Communist Party of China. It is the ideological source of comprehensively governing the party with strict discipline in the new era. From the perspectives of international, domestic and intra-party, this paper analyzes the historical background of comprehensively governing the party with strict discipline in the new era, namely, the new changes in the international economy and around the world, the new challenges of domestic economic transformation, and the new challenges facing the party.
