“一带一路”与外语学科的外延发展

The Belt and Road Initiative and the Denotational Development of the Discipline of Foreign Language and Literature

“一带一路”倡议为我国高等学校的学科建设提供了新的契机和空间。就外语学科而言,“一带一路”倡议一方面拓展了外语学科规划和建设的国际视野,另一方面也拓展了外语学科范围,使国别区域研究等社会服务领域成为外语学科的应有之意。本文认为,外语学科要主动对接国家战略,加强国别区域研究等社会服务功能;而在进行外延式发展的同时也要立足于外国语言文学的学科内涵,即外国文学、外国语言学及应用语言学、翻译学、比较文学与跨文化研究。这是保证外语学科合法性的需要,也是体现外语学科对国别区域研究独特贡献的关键要素。

The Belt and Road Initiative has been providing great openings for the disciplinary construction of Chinese higher education. When it comes to the discipline of foreign Ianguages and literature (.FLL), the In itiative con tributes to the broadening of the horiz ons of the discipli nary planning and the enrichment of intemationalization. and as well expands the discipline's domain by adding Country and Regional Studies (CRS) to this discipline. The writer believes that the FLL discipline is expected to actively serve the national strategies by enhancing its function in serving society such as in country and regional studies. and that, for such denotational development. the FLL discipline is also expected to base itself on its connotational fields such as literature, linguistics and applied linguistics, translation studies, and comparative literature and cross-cultural studies. which is the requirement of the legitimacy of FLL as a discipline. and also a necessary guarantee of the unique contribution of the FLL discipline to country and regional studies.
