通过对1950-1966年中国图书馆学界主要的6种学术刊物的统计分析,论述了中国图书馆学第二次学术高潮的产生、高潮和衰落期,阐明了第二次学术高潮的发展过程、学术高潮中的主要人物,分析了这次学术高潮中学人的三代同堂、此消彼长、学术研究受政治运动影响等的5个特征。

Through the statistical analysis of six academic journals in Chinese library science circle between 1950 and 1966, the paper discusses the formation, climax and decline period of the second academic upsurge of Chinese library science. Then, the paper discusses the development process and main figures in the second academic upsurge and analyzes the five characteristics in the academic climax, like three generations under one roof, waxing and waning, academic research influenced by political movement, etc.
