《唐摭言》是唐五代王定保撰写的一部关于唐代科举风俗的笔记小说,在对唐代科举制度及与此相关的遗文琐事和文人逸事的记载中,保存了大量反映唐朝士子参加科举活动与这一活动期间内心感受的诗歌。除了传统的省试诗外,《唐摭言》收录了种类丰富的科举诗,最常见的有府试诗、科举感怀诗、科举唱和诗、科举干谒诗以及反映科举习气的风俗诗,这些诗歌从不同的角度留下关于唐朝科举制度的记载。《唐摭言》收录的科举诗很多是诗人的真情流露,有感而发,为特定的情景而作,引起人的共鸣。

Tang Zhi Yan is a note-taking novel written by Wang Dingbao in the Tang Dynasty about the imperial examination customs in the Tang Dynasty, which includes a large number of poems which indicated the imperial examination activities of the scholars in the Tang Dynasty and their inner activities during this period. In addition to the traditional poetry for provincial examination, Tang Zhi Yan collected a variety of poems about imperial examinations, the most common of which were poems concerning sentimental feeling of imperial examinations, antiphon poems, flattering poems and custom poems which revealed the atmosphere of imperial examinations. These poems have left us records about the imperial examination system from different perspectives. Most of the poems collected by Tang Zhi Yan are true feelings of poets, enriching the poetic themes of Tang poetry, possess certain literary value and aesthetic implication and set readers thinking.
