The practical exploration of Office Hours localization in universities of China

Office Hours制度是目前欧美高等院校广泛应用且已规范化的教育教学手段。该制度充分体现了以学生为本的教育理念,是实现国内高校大力提倡开展个性化教育,培养创新型人才的行之有效的方法之一。然而该制度在国内大部分高校,未得到充分的了解和足够的重视。通过介绍Office Hours制度的基本内涵及其优势,分析新时代高等教育对于该制度的迫切需求,对于该制度在国内高校的实践提出了具体的对策,也从学生的角度对如何高效利用Office Hours提出了相应建议。

Office Hours system is a normalized standard teaching method and widely used in European and American universities. The system fully reflects the student-oriented education concept,and would be one of the effective methods to realize the implementation of personalized education and cultivating innovative talents in domestic universities. However,the system has not been fully understood and attached enough attention in most Chinese universities. This paper introduces the basic content and advantages of Office Hours system,analyzes the urgent demand of higher education for the system in the new era,and puts forward specific countermeasures for the practice of the system in universities in China. It also provides specific suggestions on how to use Office Hours efficiently from students’ perspective.
