Prevalence and predictors of bone mineral density loss in adults in the Guangdong province

摘要 目的探讨广东省成人低BMD的原因及影响BMD的一般因素。方法广东省居民(n=8 369)参加了2015-2017年的横断面研究。通过桡骨定量超声(QUS)测量BMD并记录QUS的声速(SOS)。进行亚组分析和logistic回归分析以确定已知因素与低BMD之间的关系。结果参与者的年龄为(58.18±14.60)岁。男性和女性低BMD的发生率分别为74.6%和72.7%。单因素分析显示,年龄和BMI显著影响广东居民的BMD。年龄和BMI是低BMD的独立预测因子,这在多变量logistic回归模型中得到了揭示。结论尽管骨质疏松症的发生率为20.4%,但中国南方居民的低BMD发生率相对较高(73.3%)。年龄和BMI是该地区低BMD的独立危险因素。 Objective To investigate the prevalence and risk factors of low bone mineral density(BMD) in adults in the Guangdong province. Methods Residents of Guangdong(n=8 369) were enrolled in this cross-sectional study from 2015 to 2017. BMDs were measured by radial quantitative ultrasound(QUS). The speed of sound(SOS) of the QUS was recorded. Subgroup analysis and logistic regression analysis were conducted to identify the correlation between the known factors and low BMD. Results The average age of the participants was 58.18±14.60 years. The incidences of low BMD in males and females were 74.5% and 72.7%, respectively. Univariate analysis showed that the age and BMI significantly influenced the BMD in Guangdong. Age and BMI were independent predictors of low BMD, which was revealed in a multivariate logistic regression model. Conclusion Residents in Southern China have a relatively high incidence(73.3%) of low BMD, though the incidence of osteoporosis was 20.4%. Age and BMI are independent risk factors for low BMD.
