Inner Clarity and Divine Aspiration:Aesthetic Characteristics of Neo-Confucians’ Poetry in Song Dynasty

对人这一主体的关注是中国传统美学的重要特征。宋代理学在秉承此传统构建形而上本体时,格外重视心性思索。他们强调儒学道统,体天格物,明道穷理,追求自身境界与修养的提升,从而形成了独特的诗歌创作风格。在道德层面,他们心怀天下,无欲则刚,以道立身;在自然层面,他们雅好山水,静观内外,和乐圆融,而这两者最终都统摄于其心性与人格的涵育,并以艺术性与哲理性兼具的形态具现在其诗歌中。文章即对宋代理学家诗歌本于内在生命力的审美特质作一综论。

Chinese traditional aesthetics had a important feature of paying attention to the subject of human beings, and the Neo-Confucians in Song pay special attention to mental thinking. They inherited the Confucian tradition, attached great importance to their own realm and accomplishment, and formed a unique creative style. They advocated morality, had a sense of social responsibility, and got close to nature. More importantly, they attached importance to the cultivation of mind and personality, making their poetry both artistic and philosophical. This paper makes a comprehensive review of the aesthetic characteristics of this kind of poetry, which originates from its inner vitality.
