The Development of Embedded Wireless LAN Application System Based on MontaVista Linux

This paper presents the design and development of an embedded wireless LNA application system base on MontaVista Linux. This system uses RPXlite 823 board,802.11b wireless card and MontaVista Linux as OS. It shows that MontaVista Linux is one good development platform and tool for wireless LAN application system. The features of MontaVista Linux are also introduced. MontaVista Linux, a Linux-based embedded source and binary distribution, includes cross development platform and a set of tool kits for x86/IA-32,PowerPC, StrongARM, MIPS, SH, ARM and other microprocessor architectures,offers embedded design targeted for applications ranging from communications infrastructure to thin-client and edge applications, that also supplies valuable technology add -on packages addressing specific customer needs such as the Java Development environment, High Availability technology, Real -Time performance, GUI toolkit and more.
