摘要
介绍了INDEPTH项目在探测、研究喜马拉雅山与青藏高原深部结构和构造方面所获得的10项主要发现和新的认识,并阐述了这些成果在大陆动力学理论研究和解决实用问题方面的重要意义。强调了深部调查同样是基础地质调查,可以补充地表地质调查之不足,从而给出更为全面的岩石圈结构和构造的概念,并应成为今后地质调查工作深化发展的主要内容和必然趋势。
This paper introduces ten items of major findings and new understandings with regard to the detection and study of the deep structure and tectonics of the Himalayas and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau obtained during the period of the INDEPTH project and elucidates the great significance of these findings and understands in the study of continental geodynamics and solution of practical problems.It is emphasized that the investigation of the Earth's deep interior is likewise fundamental geological survey and can make up for a lack of surface geological work and give a more complete concept the lithospheric structure and tectonics.Such investigation should be the main content of the deep-going development of future geologi-cal investigation and an inexorable trend.
