从美学角度看《美国悲剧》中译本的不足

An Aesthetic Perspective on the Defects in the Chinese Version of “An American Tragedy”

本文着重从美学的角度探讨了《美国悲剧》汉译本在忠实于原文的内容美与形式美时存在的一些欠缺:在忠实于原文内容美方面,文章分析了翻译中由于一词多义的陷阱和由于译者对文化背景理解的偏差而导致译文中的误译现象;在忠实于原文的形式美方面,文章列举了译文中四字词误用及其欧化现象。

This paper takes an aesthetic perspective to approach the Chinese version of the American novel'An American Tragedy'. The author of this paper finds that, when trying to be faithful to the original version, there exist some defects in two aspects: content and form. On the content aspect, this paper analyses some controversial translations, which may be improved on if the translator has a better understanding of the cultural background and considers more carefully of those polysemous words. On the form aspect, this paper lists the wrong employments of Chinese 4 - words phrases and foreignization.
