Priorities of a reform in ESP instruction

一直以来专业英语教学没有得到充分的关注 ,专业英语教学的现状不尽人意 ,有很多需要改革的地方 ,文章试图根据社会发展出现的新情况、新问题 。

The newly revised College English Syllabus has made it clear that ESP instruction is an important stage in College English teaching. Nevertheless, ESP instruction, as has been dwelled on sharply by experts and scholars, not only has received inadequate attention but has also yielded unsatisfactory results. Much remains to be improved on. This paper, based on some new findings in our rapidly developed society, attempts an analysis of the necessity for and the priorities of a reform in ESP instruction.
