The participation of Chinese private capital in the civil aviation industrymainly took the form of booking agency for a long time. It was no earlier than last year that they began to take part in the operation ofairlines,airports and become share-holders of aviation companies.Thisyear,in particular,the door of the industry seems open to them much more widely than before. So far there have been about 200 private companies being traded publicly.As the newregulation that the private companiescan buy public companies comes intoeffect and the private sector expands,they will become the principal forceand key players in the reorganizationof the assets of traded companies.Theycertainly would not neglect an indus-try full of opportunities. As some experts believe,it wouldbe helpful to both breaking monopolyand setting up a mechanism of pluralinvestments if private capital wereintroduced into the reform of the in-dustry.It is safe to predict that itwould have deeper participation ofprivate capital in the coming years.
