The quality of design and application of drilling tools is a major factor that affects the drilling process.The qualit y of drilling tolls can only be guaranteed by carring out qualing control of the whole process from design to application and real-time evaluation of reliabilit y.In this paper the general applicability of reliability engineering is proved b y applying it to the design,manufacture,use,quality control and risk assessment of sand pumps and shock absorbers.
